DESIGN & LAYOUT – 260 PAGE PRINTED BOOK WITH DIGITAL FLIPBOOK VERSION AND 5 3×8′ TRADESHOW DISPLAY BOARDS

The client approached me to design a historical timeline book about naturopathic medicine dating from 2,000 BCE to the present and steward them through the production process. Their research and writing has been a more than 10-year project that previously culminated in a 60-page Word document.

My first goal was to establish some systems of visual communication, namely that icons and colors would be used to identify 10 historical benchmarks within the profession (Professional Formation, Laws, Education, etc.). Secondly, I realized that our efforts would be better spent allowing me to start developing a brand presence and design a logo with some visual assets for use in presentations, business cards, a website, and other organizational needs. The book itself was a research reference and textbook establishing a historical canon of naturopathic medicine.

Skills & Deliverables

The Foundations of Naturopathic Medicine  is currently in the final editorial review process. Additional images and one page introductions will be added to each chapter. They are currently using the tradeshow display boards at events to promote the book and fundraise, while showcasing the volume as a digital flipbook on an overhead screen.
